Annapolis Shakespeare Debut and Summer Wrap-Up

Annapolis Shakespeare CompanyA busy and exciting summer for yours truly has been followed by a busy and exciting autumn (so far at least).  The summer season in Maine with Acadia Rep was a terrific experience with a talented and balanced company of artists and enthusiastic patrons.  I confess that playing Mike Talman in Wait Until Dark was my favorite role of the summer, but don’t think that means I didn’t love playing Watson and Hansel.

Up next is As You Like It with Annapolis Shakespeare Company in (you guessed it) Annapolis, Maryland, performing October 16 – November 15.  The company is friendly and talented, and the show is shaping up to be tons of fun for us and truly memorable for audiences.  Our concept for the production is 1930s Appalachia, and we’re adding bluegrass/gospel-style music to reinforce the feel.  I’m playing Touchstone (the court jester who accompanies Rosalind and Celia into Arden), Silvius (devoted lover of farm girl Phoebe), and a couple other lords.  With an 8-person cast, most of us are wearing many hats to tell the story with the same rich depth as a big cast.

Annapolis Shakespeare has earned Helen Hayes Awards-Recommended honors for three of its recent shows, and we hope to keep the trend rolling.  To get your tickets or learn more about the great company, visit their site.
