HUNT at Capital Fringe 2016

Capital Fringe Festival 2016The Scripts in Play Festival with WSC Avant Bard is in the record books! It was terrific to read with such a great cast and make some new friends. Edward Bond’s Lear is a very interesting play that would resonate well in contemporary culture, but it does present some extraordinary challenges that might make it a tricky choice for the WSC Avant Bard season.

Next up for me is a new play called Hunt, a production of the 2016 Capital Fringe Festival. I’ve yet to read the full script, but the basic idea is that the show takes place in Washington, DC during the 1950s and follows some of the political doings of Joseph McCarthy and his cronies. I play Herman Welker, the first-term Senator who’s manipulated by Senator Bridges to work against Senator Hunt.

I’m looking forward to starting up rehearsals in June. We’ll be performing at the Mead Theatre Lab – Flashpoint at 916 G Street NW in downtown DC and playing on July 7th, 13th, 16th, 19th, 22nd, and 24th at various times. The full festival schedule will be announced on June 20, so be sure to check the Capital Fringe site for more info and specific times.
