Summer 2014 Wrap-Up

Advice to the Players, NHThough the summer of 2014 is far from over, a big, huge chunk of it is done for me!  I couldn’t be happier with the two shows I worked on in beautiful Center Sandwich, NH with Advice to the Players.

Sherlock Holmes and the Case of Hamlet was goofy and silly, but offered a lot of opportunity for improvisation and creativity.  It turned out that our production was the United States premier – it had only been performed one other time, by the playwrights, as part of the St. Lawrence Shakespeare Festival…or something like that.  We met one of the writers and the original Hamlet – they made the trek down from Canada to see our closing night and laughed raucously!  Good fun.

The Merry Wives of Windsor likely turned out to be a whole lot funnier than anyone expected (mostly because the show isn’t produced or studied often).  The cast was very strong and the direction was spot on.  I played Doctor Caius and also stage managed, and though it made the rehearsal process extremely busy (and a bit crazy at times), I had a great time and think it turned out really well.  The company was very proud of the show and the audiences showed their delight with loud laughs.  Huzzah!

More to come soon…like National Tour dates and locations for A Christmas Carol this winter!
