Coming up this fall is a new-ish play by German playwright Marius von Mayenburg, The Ugly One, a fast-paced, sharp, and very funny dark comedy which tackles themes of individuality and the human sense of self. I play Lette, the ugly one, who is an adult by the time anyone tells him he’s unspeakably ugly. His grief over the revelation leads him to a plastic surgeon with a bold new procedure that will change his life forever…
The show is produced by Nu Sass, a company I’m excited to work with for the first time, and will be performed at Caos on F, a living room-sized venue in downtown DC.
We open on November 17, take a week off for Thanksgiving, and then roll on until December 17. There are 2 industry nights planned: Tuesday, November 28 at 8:00 pm and Monday, December 4 at 8:00 pm.
